Who We Are

The idea for Saranaloka Foundation was born in 2004 from the need to have an organization that coordinates efforts of the many individuals who wish to support nuns' visits to the United States.
As the nuns' community in England continues to grow and our relationship with them deepens, the need for such an organization ensures that their needs and arrangements during visits to the United States are properly taken care of.
Saranaloka Foundation provides financial support for their travel
and lodging, health insurance, and other expenses. We also
arrange and coordinate teaching opportunities as necessary as
well as arrange suitable opportunities for them to have individual
retreats while here. We hope to provide facilities for a community of nuns to reside in the United States full time when they feel it is appropriate.
The Saranaloka Foundation accepts dana (literally, 'generosity') from anyone interested in supporting the nuns. Please see the Support Us page for information on making a donation.
