Upcoming Saranaloka Supporters' Meetings

The first of the next two Supporters' Meetings is scheduled for Sunday, December 7 from noon until 4 pm in San Francisco at 39 Cook St, 94118. The next meeting will be with the nuns on Sunday, January 11 at the nuns' vihara. The meeting will begin at 11 am with a meal offering. If you need information, please call (415) 752-4920. Hope to see you there—as always, everyone is most welcome!

 

Wish List for the Nuns

3 BROWN ZAFUS AND 3 BROWN ZABUTONS (zafus preferably filled with buckwheat). Zafustore.com has these for sale, but any store is fine.

MP3 RECORDER and MICROPHONE to record dhamma talks. We have been recommended to get an E6i microphone from Countryman Store but are open to any alternatives.

BATH LINENS—4 sets of bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths and a bath mat or two—solid, subdued color

BRITA water filter pitcher

WAKE-UP BELL—a small one for retreats

SURVIVAL KIT—various first aid remedies and natural or medicinal remedies that might be useful for retreats and for the nuns

AA BATTERY RECHARGER AND RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES—for flash lights, cameras, and other things

TRAYS OR BASKETS—3 are needed for the close of retreats

 

We Have Found a House for the Nuns!

Saranaloka has placed a deposit on a lovely and very suitable house in San Francisco for the nuns who will be in residence there for the months of January and February. There will be lots of space in this temporary monastery for visitors to come and share a meal and pujas with the nuns. The house is in the Sunset District, just a block from the ocean and very close to the N. Judah public transport line. Many thanks to the Bay Area Support Group for all of your diligent effort in finding this lovely house and great thanks to all who have offered donations to Saranaloka and made it possible for us to sponsor their visit this winter.
